Apps Not Updating?

Quick post. I’ve seen people asking why they can’t update certain apps and, in turn, remove the number displayed on the Marketplace tile. It seems that you can’t update trial apps, which is why when you try, it seems to download but reappears again. To get over this, uninstall the trial app and download it again from the marketplace.

This happens to me, but only for games. Apps update fine.
That’s quite strange; I experience it with any trial app/game. What phone are you using? I’m on the Mozart.
I get this with free apps too. I’m on a HD7 in Australia, I think country plays a part in the Marketplace somewhere. All updates have been fine until recently 😦
I have the same problem, but not only with trial apps. It will not let ANY of my apps update, and so the number on my tile is continually increasing!!! This has been going on for about a month, and I cannot find a way to fix it. Please help…

This is the first time I’ve heard of this happening. What device do you have and have you received any official updates (A message pops up on your phone telling you that a new update is available for your phone)? It’s called the NoDo update and you can find information on it here. This update fixes certain Marketplace issues and bugs and may fix the problem you’re having.
I’ve just started having the exact same problem as Bonnie =(
I updated my HTC HD7 to the NoDo update earlier this week and the problem has only just started occuring over the past few days. HTC youtube is also one of the apps not to update, so it’s not just trial apps, does anybody have any idea what to do to sort this? Very frustrating.
My wp7 Samsung focus will not update any apps I’ve gotten all the updates that’s been available how do i fix that? Also what’s going on with ringtones and accessories??????
I’m not sure what could be causing update blocks after the latest updates. Are you trying to update games and large apps? If they’re over 20mb (I believe), then you have to update whilst connected to the Zune software or use a wireless connection – it won’t download over your data connection. You might find posting and/or searching these forums might result in an answer.
What do you mean by ringtones and accessories? At the moment, custom ringtones aren’t possible. This may change in a future update. Accessories for WP7 such as case can be bought from phone shops.
This started happening to me a few days ago with an error message stating “windows live id is unavailable. Try again later.”
