Rumour: Second WP7 Update in February

There’s no denying that Microsoft are late to the smartphone market starting line. Fortunately for them, the race is long and getting such a solid device out there is a great start. Catching up to iPhone and Android is no mean feat, and certainly not an overnight job, but it’s far from impossible. MS is taking a huge step in the right direction with the attitude of constantly releasing updates to the WP7 in order to help it catch up on certain features. Firstly, the infamous copy and paste feature will be available very soon. However, rumour now has it that February will now see another, possibly larger, update.
Whilst information is scarce on what this update contains, it’s thought that the update will allow for further customisation of the phone as well as providing developers with a bunch of new APIs. The reason this rumour has some basis is because Steve Ballmer will be keynoting at Mobile World Congress 2011 and it would make sense to announce something significant at this event.
Thanks for Engadget for the tip.
