WP7 Developer’s Roadmap (including final SDK release date)

Brandon Watson has just posted an update on the Windows Phone Developer Blog describing the steps developers should be looking to take. The final development tools will be released on September 16th and will include much-requested controls such as the Panorama, Pivot and Bing Maps control. There may be some breaking changes introduced, so developers will need to make sure their applications run smoothly in the final version.
There have already been 300,000 downloads of the beta tools and while this does not imply 300,000 applications, it still gives a good idea of the potential number of launch applications. There will also be further training videos and resources available in the near future. XNA developers will be happy to see new resources available today as well as more to come next month. I highly recommend you read the blog post over here for all the details. Time to get those apps and games finished!
